Recently, in the sermon, I mentioned about the importance of a thankful heart. The quality of our lives is related to the quality of our thoughts, and the quality of our thoughts is connected to the thankfulness of our hearts to God. It is not what’s going on around us but what’s happening within our hearts, which we choose to focus on. Thankfulness turns our focus to God, not ourselves or our problems. It is a place of giving but also positions ourselves to receive what God has for us! In this world, although they advertise “for your satisfaction!” yet their mission is mainly to make you feel unsatisfied and that you need some more in order to be satisfied, which makes their business go well. So, in that world we live in we are not easily satisfied or thankful but rather covetous and demandful, which makes our sense dissatisfied and poor. Yes, if we are not careful of our hearts, we are hardly being thankful at all today.
This month in Japan we have Labor Thanks holiday, and in the US thanksgiving holidays but sadly these holidays are mainly used for shopping business. However, the heart of thanksgiving shall be connected to God who provides anything and everything according to His good will, that we can give thanks whether we have or not. This month right before Christmas month, let us focus on God and count on what He provides carefully, and be thankful to God. So that, we can respect the people God has set around us and see them as blessings once again, that makes our sight renewed. Once we get new sight to see the world, the world can be a new blessing to us, and we will find even new blessings at all. Thank you for your heart to believe. Thank you for your heart to love. And thank you so much for your life. Let us be thankful every day, that God wants us to be. So that, He will bless us abundantly in order to bless the world. Pastor Takeshi
