A Disposable Generation

Compared to before, we can now buy decent quality items at a cheaper price. Dollar stores are common and you can find most things there. Even electronics and many other things can be bought cheaply at wholesale stores. Things that were used for decades once bought now come and go in a few years because there are frequent product updates. Cars, computers, and smartphones quickly become “old models” in just a few years.
The sense of “disposability”, not having to take good care of products represents our convenient world today. This convenience has led to the destruction of our living environment and also of our relationships since we have lost patience and generosity from our hearts. Now we realize that humans are being controlled and dominated by “smart” electronics.
In such an environment, we have been fit into schools and companies as parts of the
complex, educated and trained to fulfill our roles. If we fail to accomplish our role, we are taken out and replaced like disposables. Since we have become familiar of “disposable” culture, we can accept it as a natural thing. Therefore, we take care of people who are not productive, the sick, old, and disabled, by isolating them, and once we know they won’t be fixed, we deal with them in a reasonable manner.
People are not things. The products that humans create do not become living things. However, God created us as living beings, not as things. He will never treat us as disposables. Instead, He finds those who are abandoned and lost to rescue, heal, and restore them.
We live like members of this world, but we are not of this world. Jesus became like a human, but is not human. He is the Son of God. We are those of the Kingdom of God. God will never dispose us. As He uses us, He heals us, restores the environment, and completes the Kingdom of God.
