Best Calculation
It is thought that people who can “calculate everything succeed in life.” Those who calculate fast without mistakes applies to the successful category.
Yet, in reality, being good at calculations does not mean you can live a rich and fulfilling life. A person who can calculate their income and living expenses, who can anticipate their future income, expected prices, and cost of living, may think, “To live all my life securely, I need about this much money. Therefore, I will need this much income or this much savings. Otherwise, I won’t be able to make ends meet.” Then, through their seemingly flawless calculations, they become pessimistic about the future, as though they already know what it will bring. They waste life today by worrying about money and decide, “I won’t have children,” or “I won’t do this or that.” Like this, they place limits on life and make them narrower and more constrained.
To those who can calculate everything, people who can’t may seem to live without a proper plan just following impulses they have then. It is often said that developed countries with high education experience declining birth rates, while countries where education is inadequate continue to increase with growing populations. They also say having children without careful planning causes food crises. Is that true? If we shared properly, all would be able to eat. Since there are minorities that stock up for years, it obvious that some people cannot eat. Worries of tomorrow overtakes today’s needs in this world.
The best calculation for us is to walk with God who is love and provides for everything, instead of worrying. We should be thankful for our daily needs being met and share what we’ve received with others.
