Time is flying. Half of the year has passed already. Usually, when we look back the time, everything passes by so fast. Yes, there have been many things happening. We basically do not like to start something new. We do not want to get bored but we would prefer for things familiar to go smoothly and easy without changing own-self. This is because of our self-centered nature that we do not want to move but want the things around move for us according to our own plan and desire. However, if there is something new coming, we need to change what we have been doing and adjust ourselves. Also, when we challenge something new, we become tense and will not feel comfortable until we know it well. Therefore, although people may desire or want to start something new when they actually have to change themselves for the things of new, they will not like to do so. To start something new is necessary for growth. If we keep staying in our comfort zone, we’ll just grow old, but never grow up. However, if we choose to adjust our self to the new thing, our hearts will be expanded and wealthier, being able to grow up and go into the new dimension. God prepares new things for us day by day. If we carefully observe the things around us, we will find His grace and blessing a lot that He has prepared. Those may be in the relationship between husband and wife, parent and child, teacher and student, or in days at our job and church, of course! Last half of 2023, God will continually provide us with His new things to grow us. When new things come, we’ll be confused or upset at first, but if we set ourselves before God and pray, we will know His guidance to be new in Christ. Let’s change our self with the help of the Spirit! Pastor Takeshi
