Not By Your Own Image

Let’s try not to make ourselves by our own image. Unconsciously, we try to make the “me” we think, and in that “me”, we become frustrated and become self-conscious which we eventually take out on God by being too proud or feeling pathetic.

When we put ourselves before us and study carefully, there’s nothing really good. The world tells us, “Look at yourself” and puts the spotlight on us. However, when we do that, we see more than we want to, not only the good things but we see the ugly things. And when we see those negative things, the things we thought were good could seem bad. Then our self-esteem drops and we realize how much of a “sinner” we are and become disappointed in life.

However, God created us as “very good” in His image. The Bible certainly testifies so. Then, why can we not see ourselves as “very good”? That is because we try to make ourselves and we try to put ourselves before us. The Bible teaches us to put ourselves before God.

Let’s put ourselves before God. What does that mean? The specific of this is to come before God as ourselves to Church every Sunday service and to offer ourselves as offerings to God. Worship is to offer ourselves before God, in the form of praising, prayer, and offering with thanksgiving to Him. We are not determined by our own judge how well we sing or pray, or how much the amount we offer. God is pleased in worship that comes from faith and thanksgiving.

When we put ourselves before God, we start to know who we really are. And when we can gladly offer ourselves before God, then He will complete us to live our lives for His glory. Let’s live worshipping our God!
