This year in our prayer meeting we started to study from Acts about prayer. The Acts of the Apostles is actually the acts of the Holy Spirit. That’s the history book how Church was born, grown up, and magnified, but also it is the book of prayer that’s the root of working with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer itself is sober and inconspicuous, without faith it is just self talking and can be boring. We expect something great will be coming with prayer immediately but hardly happen it inside or outside of us. That is why unless we go by faith, joining prayer meeting is not so fun or enjoyable. That is the prayer meeting actually in the Bible also the prayer meetings were mostly just described as “they prayed” that’s all.

However, because of such a prayer or as the result of such a prayer, wonderful incidents happen. So, we expect it. Yes, we are not interested in patient persevering persistent prayer, but we’d love to see miracle of God only!

Prayer is like a root of tree. It is underground, not seen and even seems weak. But tree is supported by roots. And from that tree, leaves, flowers and fruits will be produced. That’s because there are many tiny roots wider and deeper underground! Prayer is not seen or known or conspicuous but without it, believer and church will not have power of God or grow like Jesus.

People who were used by God are certainly people of prayer if we carefully observe their lives. Hannah, Samuel and David and so on, they were praying as their own way to come close to God. And Jesus was also always connecting to the Father God through prayer when He was on the earth. Just like Jesus’ prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, prayer sounds like self speaking. But God invisible is spiritual being, so by faith believing God and come close through prayer, that can be the way to connect God because Jesus made the way for us! This month, let us be a man and woman of prayer!
