There are many kinds of delicious tea of various colors; yellow, orange, brown, green andso on. If such delicious tea was served, anyone would be excited and drink sip by sip withjoy. Or if pure spring water is served to us, that too, would be drank with happiness.
But what if in the cup that is going to be served spring water or delicious tea had left overmilk in it? Would we proceed to put the spring water or delicious tea in it? Absolutely not! If we did so, the delicious drink that we were going to put would be mixed with milk and become an unpleasant drink. We must wash the cup first, and then pour spring water or delicious tea shall be poured in it.
If we seek God with spiritual thirst and hunger, and if we empty ourselves, and thenaccept God’s pure word as it is, it will cleanse our heart and soul. However, if we do notremove the worldly carrier and knowledge, or the experiences we’ve had, and mix thesewith God’s pure word and try to gain understanding, the true meaning or the context ofGod’s word will be lost and turn out to be something confusing and misunderstanding. That is a mistake we sometimes make.
Let’s receive God’s word as it is. Let’s not mix it with the worldly knowledge and itsexperience. God’s pure blessing and power shall be poured unto us when we make our cupof the heart empty. God is not pleased when we mix His holy word and the worldly things.Let’s rid ourselves and take the cross; the love of Christ, and thirst for God’s pure word! So that we can walk with new power of God’s love this week.
